Europe, Asia, Russia
Perpetuum Mobile has been on the market for
more than twenty years and has gained a reputation
as a reliable supplier of package solutions for differ-
ent types of ships. Its line of shipboard equipment in-
cludes 23 MW main engines, 10 MW auxiliary and
emergency diesel generators, electric motors, shaft-
driven generators, shafting lines, reverse-reduction
gears, rudder propellers, steering and propulsive sys-
tems, couplings, pumping units and motor pumps.
All products have been certified by the Russian Clas-
sification Society and the Russian Maritime Register
of Shipping.
Oleg Batygin, Perpetuum Mobile, Director Gen-
eral:
“We have a long history as an authorized distribu-
tor of European and Asian marine equipment brands.
The Russia sanctions have hit hard: last year, in order
to be able to continue to supply to our customers, we
were forced to rebuild logistics and create alternative
scenarios. We continue to work officially with manu-
facturers in Japan, China and South Korea, supplying
their products to the Russian market.”
Alongside being a supplier, Perpetuum Mobile op-
erates an extended network of authorized service cen-
ters, providing maintenance

of components we can pro-

of them can, indeed, be manufactured here as a more
cost-effective way and with no detriment to quality.
During this past year, we have established the pro-
duction of wet exhaust systems for diesel generators,
radiators, exhaust tanks, as well as sensors and con-
trol systems that are not inferior in quality to their
imported counterparts.”
Projects and challenges
Perpetuum Mobile’s production premises are
based in Moscow and Kaluga Oblast. All items of the
product line have RCS and RMRS certificates. The
company supplies to more than 60 shipyards, major
shipowners, and government services. Its current or-
ders include sets of equipment for four ice-reinforced
passenger ships, which are currently being built at
Arkhangelsk’s Krasnaya Kuznitsa ship repair facility.
“The equipment we produce is used in the con-
struction and conversion of vessels of various types,”
says Oleg Batygin. “We partner the yards in Yaro-
slavl, Kostroma, and Nizhny Novgorod, and coop-
erate with some of the USC member companies and
leading design bureaus. Many projects these days deal
mostly with modernization. Having sufficient com-
petence in equipping different types of ships, we are
well aware of customers needs and can now come up
with our own offers. We have set up an in-house de-
sign bureau to support the ship modernization proj-
ects we’re engaged in.”
This year Perpetuum Mobile engineers have com-
